Foxtail Golf Club

Purchase here!

There you are, itching to find just the right opportunity to grab the irons and play a round, and then you come upon this little beauty. Here’s the rundown on this gem of an offer: $32 for 18 Holes with a Cart on the North Course at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park near Petaluma ($64 Value. Expires April 12, 2012.)

Foxtail Golf Club is located at 100 Golf Course Drive in Rohnert Park, right in the heart of California Wine Country. With two 18-hole championship golf courses, Foxtail Golf Course is your destination for a great time with the irons in the North Bay.

Foxtail Golf Club features two 18-hole courses: The North Course and the South Course. In recent years, both courses have been improved through ambitious renovation. In fact, the changes earned Foxtail the runner-up position for the Golf Inc. "Renovation of the Year" award. Another source of particular pride is Foxtail’s extensive environmental programs, including water conservation and quality, recycling and reuse and wildlife habitat management.

Originally designed in 1974 by Gary Roger Baird (ASGCA), The North Course has undergone the most extensive renovations, effectively creating an entirely new course. Under its new configuration, the par-72 North Course offers up a total of 7,030 yards from the tips with a course rating of 69.2/112. The shorter of the two courses, the 18-hole South Course was designed by Bob E. Baldock in1963 and weighs in at 6,596 yards with a par of 72 and a course rating of 70.1/115.

Adding to the stellar facilities at Foxtail Golf Club is the recent opening of the Val Verhunce Game Improvement Center, named for Val Verhunce, one of the top PGA instructors in the North Bay area. The facility offers a full instruction program for golfers of all skill levels, including juniors. Verhunce will be joined by former LPGA Tour player Jessica Reese Quayle as the Director of Instruction.

Foxtail Golf Club prides itself on its excellent course conditions, convenient location and phenomenal personnel — and everyone here is eager for you to come experience the club for yourself!

Black Gold Golf Club

Championship golf is taken to another level in the foothills of Yorba Linda with today’s feature: $67 for One Day of Unlimited Golf with GPS Cart and Range Balls Monday thru Friday OR 18 Holes with GPS Cart and Range Balls on Saturday or Sunday at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda ($137 Value. Expires May 31, 2012.)

Located just a short distance from Anaheim, Black Gold Golf Club can simply be described as, "a dream," which is appropriate when one considers how much oil was discovered in the foothills of Yorba Linda. (You're likely reminiscing over "Beverly Hillbillies" reruns, but there’s no oil here anymore – just a 4.5 star course per Golf Digest and home to one of Arthur Hills’ finest championship layouts. Built in 2001, its undulating fairways are accompanied by beautifully manicured bunkers and quick, smooth greens — a shining example of what one expects Southern California golf to be.

The Arthur Hills design for this Orange County gem was built upon the tenets of "beauty, challenge and strategic options"and in his own words:

"The collection of holes at Black Gold offers one of the most diverse experiences one will find on any golf course. From the tee shot on the first hole to the approach on the eighteenth green, each hole has its own unique mysteries and challenges. Black Gold`s character is a perfect balance of strategic playing options, beauty and challenge that players of all abilities can enjoy."

Spanning over 6,756 yards from the tips and having a course/slope rating of 73/133, Black Gold Golf club is every bit of challenge as it is beauty, and this beauty has five distinct tee locations on each hole for scratch golfers and weekend players play alike. You’ll find challenging bunker placement, constant undulation, a waterfall on 18, and some of the most stunning vistas you’ll ever see overlooking all of Orange County and Long Beach.

Before you start your round, get loose at Black Gold’s 100% lighted practice facility with natural turf tees and practice greens to work out kinks and avoid a trip to the Chiropractor. While you’re improving your game, swing into their pro shop where you’ll find the biggest names and all things golf. Be sure to tally up the day’s work with a cold one and some top-notch grub at Park View Grill – and if you haven’t had enough picturesque views after 18 holes, the 19th hole at Park View Grill offers patio seating that overlooks the 18th green and it’s waterfall.

Don’t pass the chance to play one of Arthur Hills best designs in the foothills overlooking Orange County at Black Gold Golf Club.

Napa Golf Course

Purchase here!

Come out and play one of the only 18-hole championship courses serving Napa Valley’s general public with today’s feature: $24 for 18 Holes with Cart at Napa Golf Course in Napa ($49 Value. Expires May 31, 2012.)

Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park came about in 1968 from the creative minds of both Jack Fleming and Bob Baldock. They've been the architects of US Open Championship courses, as well as some of the best post-war western course designs.

Having hosted qualifying for the Kaiser Invitational and the US Open, Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park is no stranger to championship play. This par-72 course stands at a fair 6,738 yards from the tips, with a course/slope rating of 72.3/123 and promises to be just as playable as it is challenging. The course features four sets of tees so whether you’re a weekend warrior or a scratch golfer, you'll have plenty of shot-making possibilities and unique challenges on each of its 18 holes.

This wet Napa Valley gem has water on a majority of the holes in its layout. Although this course is considered a traditional design, don’t let it fool you. Napa Valley's got plenty of challenging features — such as water carries, tricky bunker placements and some classic small greens — to bring out your creativity.

You’ll start off on the medium-length par-4 No. 1, which doglegs right with bunkers inside and outside of the dogleg, challenging tee shot placement. Depending on your tee shot you’ll have the option to try to reach the green in two if you can play a premium fairway shot over the bunkers that guard the right and left sides of an uphill green.

Moving onto the back nine, you’ll have the chance to play a signature hole of sorts in Napa Valley’s par-4 No. 10. After you pipe a solid drive down a narrow fairway, you’ll be faced with an old oak tree that wards off any simple long approach shot to the green. You’ll have to decide to club up or down based on distance and elevation — and did we mention there’s water both left and right of this tree?

Whether you’re purchasing a sleeve of balls or feeling out a new driver, the golf shop at Napa Golf Course will provide you with the insight you need and all of the top names in golf that you demand. Furthermore, be sure to swing by their practice facility, which offers around 10,000 square-feet of putting/chipping greens as the perfect complement to its full-featured driving range.

Come make your mark at this rich piece of the Napa Valley’s golf tradition — its storied past surely deserves a play!

Buddha Plays 18

Purchase here!

If you’re looking for a unique, insightful, instructional and hilariously entertaining book for yourself or as a gift for the golfer in your life this golf season then today’s feature is for you: $10 for one copy of Buddha Plays 18, a $20 value that includes shipping!

There are thousands of golf books, but none like this. In Buddha Plays 18, the Buddha himself plays an 18-hole golf course while the book’s author (serving as his caddy), documents an insightful shot-by-shot account in a fun, yet truly informative and instructional format.

Throughout the book’s dialogue, readers will be gradually introduced to great golf lessons, most all of which are being derived from the basics of Buddhist philosophy. Buddha’s presents an extremely insightful approach as he plays the Enlightenment Country Club course and entertains readers with humor, kindness, logic, love, proper golf technique and above all, wisdom. The result? Lower scores for any golfer of any ability level!

But what can the over 2,500 year-old Buddha teach about golf? Instead of only learning the theoretical "right way" to hit or putt a golf ball, Buddha teaches how to actually perform the shots and putts on the course. Through the use of detailed visualizations (or "seeing" in the mind’s eye), and Buddhist principles while playing a round of golf, Buddha presents valuable stroke-saving instruction to pros and amateurs alike.

So come along with Buddha and his caddy as they play 18 at the fictitious Enlightenment Golf & Country Club, set in sunny California and learn from a true, proven "Master."

GroupGolfer.com & Golf Talk Radio with Mike & Billy "Together We Save!" - Roddy Ranch Golf Club - $27 for 18-holes, Cart and Range Balls & Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa

Roddy Ranch Golf Club

Purchase here!

We’re finally back in Northern California with some Bay Area golf: $27 for 18 Holes with Cart at Roddy Ranch Golf Club in Antioch ($75 Value. Expires May 31, 2012.)

Here’s your chance to play a 2011 CGA State Amateur Qualifier Championship course. It’s no accident that Roddy Ranch was home to this competition, in which 80 of the strongest golfers in the area compete for the title. This course is one of the most challenging in the area, with elevated tees and a winding layout. Undulating greens and rolling fairways across the board make it difficult but fun for every golfer.

A par-72 that measures over 7,000 yards from the tips, Roddy Ranch Golf Club offers two additional sets of tees. Carved from a 2,000-acre working cattle ranch, the course's 235 acres offer a true links-style layout over a canvas of an exquisite landscape. A course rating of 74.5 and a slope of 142 shouldn’t discourage you though — golfers of skill sets ranging from amateur to professional are all welcome to test their luck at Roddy Ranch and enjoy one of the Bay Area’s most coveted golf clubs.

In keeping with its status as a high-profile course, Roddy Ranch Golf Club also offers high-profile amenities to its guests. The Pro Shop is always stocked with golf’s best brands and The Corral is a charming lunch spot to get a simple yet spectacular sandwich after your round. The cherry on top is the 65-tee, three-tiered, all-grass driving range, accompanied by putting and chipping greens.

We’re sure you’ve heard of Roddy Ranch — as its reputation of being a taxing, unique and beautiful course is dead-on — and is probably on your bucket list of courses. Here’s your chance to get that gratifying feeling as you cross it off the list in a big red marker and put your score card in your bag to show off to your buddies

The Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa

Purchase here!

Experience all the unspoken elegance that this Southern California course has to offer with today’s feature: $99 for One Day of Unlimited Golf with Cart and Range Balls at Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage ($205 Value. Good Any Time until April 5, 2012.)

Rated one of the top 75 resorts in the nation by Golf Digest, The Westin Mission Hills Resort promises a truly incomparable experience, just southeast of Palm Springs. Both of the resort's 18-hole championship courses feature unspeakable beauty, bent grass greens, preserved natural surroundings and the best of course conditions, making your first decision the hardest: Which one should I choose?

The Pete Dye course was this resort's sole original design, coming into play in 1987. Named after its creator, this course offers the same surroundings as many of Dye's other championship inspired tracks. At 6,706 yards with a slope rating of 72.2/131, this par 70 represents the more challenging of the two. Using visual intimidation and less-than-accessible pin placements, this course will promise problems to even the most strategic approach shots. With undulated fairways and elevated greens, the pure beauty of your surroundings is your sure shot at serenity for these tough fairways.

The newer of the two tracks, the par-72 Gary Player course stretches to a lengthy 7,062 yards with a slightly more forgiving slope rating of 73.4/131. Reminiscent of a links-style design, the Gary Player course gives golfers the ability to run a ball onto the greens with a flatter approach and more wide open angles. However, don't forget to prepare yourself for the hazards that lie ahead, as this course offers wide fairways treacherously scattered with bunkers and lined with unsettling water.

For best results, shake out those shanks at the on-site Pete Dye or Gary Player practice facilities that offer daily golf clinics and professional private lessons. Improve those tough-to-make putts on the well-manicured greens and make sure to take a few moments to tinker with your swing on either of two driving ranges. With such a large and well-appointed practice facility, you are sure to find a serene spot to enjoy your warm up.

When all is said and done, finish up your day at one of Westin Mission Hills Resort's four top-rated dining facilities. Offering a sun-soaked seat overlooking rolling fairways or a mountain view dining experience with a seasonally inspired menu, the options to wine and dine are endless. Tired? Spend the day indulging at the Resort Spa — or, better yet, spend the day at the Spa, then book a room in one of the resort's 500 rooms.

Whatever decisions you make while at the course, The Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa is on a "mission" to give you an experience you'll never soon forget!

Rain Wedge, the Premier Golf Bag Rain Cover

Purchase here!

Rain Wedge, the Premier Golf Bag Rain Cover
No matter where you golf — Ohio, Michigan, Florida, California, even Arizona — eventually you're going to get caught out in the rain. Sure, you can seek refuge in the cart or in the clubhouse, but your clubs? Unfortunately, they're going to be left behind, leaving you with soggy grips. Your solution is the Rain Wedge, which can be yours with today's feature: $13 for One Rain Wedge, the Premier Golf Bag Rain Cover, a $27 value made even sweeter with included shipping!

Rain Wedge is the most innovative and easy-to-use rain cover available anywhere. You won't have to worry about the occasional sudden downpour any longer, because using Rain Wedge is a snap: Simply use to included clips to attach Rain Wedge to the sides of your golf bag, then slip the strap through your golf bag handle, snap it in securely, and pull it tight. Your Rain Wedge is now in position to keep your clubs safe!

Once you've strapped and snapped the Rain Wedge to your bag — in about two seconds flat — it goes to work for you. The hood, made of lightweight, durable and water-resistant nylon, draws closed and protects your clubs and bag from the elements, giving you fourteen inches of clearance from the top of your bag — enough for today's longest drivers. When you're ready to pull your next club, simply push the hood back, retrieve your club and then return the hood to its protective position. The whole process is a cinch, and you'll love the feeling of protecting your "weapons" from the wind and rain in style and comfort.

Rain Wedge also makes for a great giveaway item at your next outing or tournament. Unlike golf balls, tees and towels — which get lost, used up or tossed away — a custom imprinted Rain Wedge will be kept for years. Plus, every time someone uses it, your corporate logo will be displayed for every golfer to see. So whether for personal use or as prizes, "any way you play it, Rain Wedge fits your game."

With rare and drastic elevation changes, stimulating views, receptive putting surfaces and secluded fairways, The Links Golf Course of Paso Robles has many appealing characteristics which appeal to any enthusiast of the game, making it everything a set of clubs can hope for. Stretching to the lengthy distance of 6,937 yards from the tips with a rating of 72.2/115, this beauty plays much like a beast, despite its large greens providing a bit of forgiveness to your round. Playing out on 100 percent Creeping Bent Grass, these ample putting surfaces provide the speed and accuracy most desirable for making birdies.

Tucked deep in the Paso Robles Wine Valley, this Rudy Duran and Gary Wishon Scottish design was put together in 1996 to provide a fun and challenging round to all types of golfers. With The Links, it’s in your best interest to stay down the middle, as rough terrain stretches in between each fairway. The best way to score low at The Links is to aim for the well-manicured Bermuda fairways and stay straight. With safe tee shots and a skillful short game, you’re sure to be swinging a sweet score heading to the final flag.

While you may be all ramped up and ready to play, don’t forget that in order to stay straight all 18 — and try to hit some of the longest par-3’s in the county in regulation — you may want to hit a quick bucket at The Links' practice facility. Perfectly groomed to provide you the finest atmosphere to improve your shots, The Links range overlooks some of the course's finest views.

So plan a day to spend playing golf the old-fashioned way at The Links Golf Club at Paso Robles, guaranteed to be exciting as it is enjoyable!

Attention all chili-dippers, snap-hookers, push-slicers and otherwise confused golfers living in the heart of California, now is the time to get your game the proper attention it needs. Golf is one sport where "fake-it-'til-you-make-it" just doesn’t work. You can get off to a good start but without proper knowledge of your swing you will never sustain a solid round for an entire eighteen holes.

So whether your handicap is 13 or 3, we would suggest taking advantage of today’s feature: $25 for a One-Hour Private Lesson with PGA Professional Mike Brabenec at The Links Golf Course of Paso Robles in Paso Robles ($75 Value. Expires May 15, 2012.)

Mike Brabenec, PGA Professional Instructor, lives to teach golf. With years of teaching experience under his belt and buried in his grooves, Mike has continued to pursue further education so he can offer all his students added value, cutting edge theory and new techniques. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or expert, Mike will find out what works for you.

Mike believes in the simple fundamentals of the game. Building a solid foundation and swing motion is a great place to start but don’t think that is all you will be walking away with. Mike can show you easy checkpoints and references so you can coach yourself and enjoy this game forever.

If that is not enough reason to give the lesson a shot look at it this way: If your car’s engine were to make an ominous sound, you would take it in for a checkup, right? Apply that same logic to your golf swing.

CrossCreek Golf Club

If you’re looking for that secluded, tranquil environment for the perfect tee-off, look no further — for such a thing can be discovered at CrossCreek Golf Club in the beautiful wine country of Southern California's Temecula Valley.

"CrossCreek is a pristine world removed from the hubbub, where great golf is played in a resplendent natural setting."
— Arthur Hills

Located just off of I-15, approximately one hour from either Los Angeles or San Diego, the 18-hole course is hidden from the noise of freeways and suburbia amidst groves of age-old oak and sycamore trees, rolling hills and rippling creeks, giving it a solid 140 slope rating from the tips. Bolstering its credibility, CrossCreek Golf Club was awarded 4.5 stars from Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play Guide in 2006.

The course, designed by Arthur Hills, features firm, hard-to-hold fairways, rough-edged bunkers that are difficult to escape and fast greens that slope away for tricky putts. The par-72 layout runs 6,853 yards from the championship tees, combining length with the array of natural hazards that demand careful shot making. In addition to the championship tees, three shorter tee positions make the course accessible to all levels of player.

"CrossCreek is an absolutely beautiful site with plenty of variety and challenge for golfers of all abilities. ... Large mature trees, creeks to negotiate, changes in topography and beautiful views create great drama and a memorable golfing experience."
— Arthur Hills

If working on your game is your idea of fun, CrossCreek has the type of facilities where you can practice from dawn to dusk. Located near the clubhouse for easy access and open all day, the practice facility is the ideal place for you to work out the kinks in your game and perfect your swing.

To aid in your quest for lower scores, CrossCreek Golf Club's staff of PGA professionals are ready and willing to help you with your game. And after a long day of golf, the staff at the clubhouse grille will dish up delicious food and drinks with a smile.

The ClubSitter

Purchase here!

Looking for the perfect gift for yourself or the golfer in your life? Are you tired of wet grips, lost clubs and bending over? Are you ready for a real solution to your problem? Want to support a great golf product from a Michigan company? If you answered "Yes" to any of those questions, then you’re going to love today’s feature: $10 for TWO ClubSitters, an indispensable tool to keep your grips dry for good ($30 Value. Shipping Included!)

If you've ever been in one of the first groups on the tee in the morning, then you know how annoying the morning dew can get. We all know wet, sandy and fertilized grips do not make for good strokes or consistent scores. Today you can purchase your solution with free shipping: The ClubSitter is a creative device that keeps your grips elevated off the ground on the course and around the green so you can play to the top of your game. The ClubSitter is made from a durable and flexible plastic compound which will allow it to be an integral part of your golf game for years to come.

The ClubSitter is one of the easiest devices you will ever use — simply attach the ClubSitter to the shaft of your golf club then "point the toe to the sky and let it lie." The ClubSitter will stand that club up and away from the wet grass and chemicals below. After you play your shot you can detach the device from one club in one simple step and transfer it to another.

Not only does The ClubSitter help keep your clubs in great condition and protect your body from golf course chemicals, it also prevents you from losing a club or from having to bend over to pick one up! Because the ClubSitter stands your club up and keeps it visible — as opposed to hidden in the rough — never again will you leave one of your precious metals behind.

In addition, the ClubSitter, versatile as it is, can hold more than one club at a time and stores on or in your golf bag with ease. After sinking that tough 10-footer, you can attach The ClubSitter to any one of your club shafts in your bag and head to the next hole. The ClubSitter will be waiting for you there securely until you need it next.
